To eradicate diseases, it's not enough to merely address the symptoms. That's like pruning branches of a tree without treating the roots which lie deep in the mind itself. The body is the extension and vehicle for the expression of the mind. When the mind is diseased, engaged in negative thinking and emotions, it creates a poisonous atmosphere that allow diseases to flower. As the saying goes, "we reap what we sow", and by planting good seeds we natuarlly anticipate fruitful results of good health and harmony. Different seeds flower at different times and environment, but the seed of health requires time and patience. Just because the result is not always obvious or immediate, as long as we continue to nuture it with the proper causative factors, it will bloom. Health is not something to achieve in one day, week or month, but an ongoing process of adusting and adapting to the movement of life, as life itself is never static. The ability to adapt to changes with equanimity is a necessity to maintain mental sanity in our accelerated fast-paced society.
